Jacqueline “Jackie” Booker
A Texas native, Jacqueline “Jackie” Booker celebrates more than 30 years of service to her respective communities! Jackie received formal education from Golden Gate Academy in 1976 and became certified as a Nurse and Home Health Assistant (San Diego, CA). Upon receiving these certifications, Jackie worked for more than two decades helping societies’ most vulnerable to rehabilitate from burns, injuries and acute conditions that require comprehensive care in their pursuit to maintain independent living.
But it wasn’t until 2015, and as a resident of the Bay Area (California), that Jackie saw another vulnerable population that needed a different type of comprehensive care: the homeless.
As such, Jackie began what would become an added mission in her life, as she began to feed homeless individuals and families in Oakland and Vallejo.
Jackie went to work on hygiene kits, beanies, blankets, socks/shoes, water, referrals and a range of supportive services. For years, Jackie fed hundreds of homeless from her personal funds; leading her to create The Ark Built By Faith (BBF), a 501 (c) (3).
As the founder of BBF Jackie’s goal is to provide homelessness services to Alameda and Solano Counties with her team of dedicated board of directors and community volunteers.
Because of BBF compassionate and diligent presence in Alameda and Solano County, Jackie now receives an array of support from political officials, social services and the community abroad; a true testament of one woman’s courageous quest to be of service!
